Profile Summary

My main research interest is Diabetes, and in particular the insulin-secreting pancreatic beta cells. I spent the last 10 years investigating beta cell physiology and in particular the role that metals (zinc and calcium) play in insulin secretion, cell metabolism and signalling. In the last couple of years I have been a reviewer for Journals of the Royal Society of Cemistry and other journals including PLOSONE. Moreover, last month I took a break from academia and I am now persuing a career as freelance editor/scientific consultant. Recently I have started to work with Cactus Communication (Editage) and Peerwith and have already started taking assignments and received positive feedback from clients.
