Profile Summary

I have experience with laboratory equipment and practices, mainly with molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry and cell culture, nucleic acid extractions (DNA and RNA) and RT-qPCR. During all academic development I also performed blood processing for plasma and serum separation, as well as saliva processing for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 by the FTIR method and swab processing for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza. Since the beginning of 2020, when the pandemic began, I have been working on the diagnosis of COVID-19 by processing swabs from the naso and oropharyngeal region, extracting RNA through a robotic method offered by Promega, and performing RT-qPCR on patient samples from more than 100 cities of the State of Pernambuco, provided by the partnership between FADE-UFPE and the Association of Municipalists of Pernambuco - AMUPE. I also process and report samples from the Hospital das Clínicas at UFPE on a daily basis to perform elective surgeries and perform immunoenzymatic tests to detect analytes for diagnostic purposes. I collaborate with projects that aim to identify the variants that circulate in our State, through the receipt, processing and report of samples that form a partnership between the Federal University and some cities in the interior of the State. In addition, daily activities such as reagent preparation, equipment calibration, glassware washing and autoclaving, and protocol standardization are also part of my development as a professional. I gained massive experience with participation in the entire process of acquiring hospital and laboratory supplies and materials during the COVID-19 pandemic, making all the choices, and interacting directly with companies and technical managers so that the best material and supplies were chosen. All this baggage of knowledge brought me closer to the pharmaceutical market and industry, inserting myself as a competent and multidisciplinary professional.
