Profile Summary

I graduated from the Department of Environmental Sciences – University of Genoa-Italy (cum laude) – BSc and MSc. I obtained my Ph.D. in Oceanography from the Democritus University of Thrace - Department of Environmental Engineering– Greece (Grant: Heraclitus II) and continued with my post-doctoral research in applied ecology and mathematical modelling working for NAGREF (Grant: AgroETAK). Currently, I am on my second post-doctoral research and I function as an external consultant for Democritus University of Thrace. I also occupy the position of scientific consultant at the (F)LAG Local Authorities Enterprise Kavala Development Agency. I participated in several transnational and national research projects in the past years such as “Black Expedition”, “MARE NOSTRUM” and “HERMES” as a researcher in the fields of coastal erosion and defense methods, ICZM and forecasting. I have several participations in international conferences and a number of publications. I gained a vast experience in the fields of oceanographic and meteorological data analysis, oceanographic instrumentation implementation, environmental assessment, mathematical simulation models such as SWAN wave model, MIKE 21, LITPACK, ELCOM, tidal analysis, etc.
