Profile Summary

I have completed my Ph.D. research work from Ecole Polytechnique, Paris (France) in the field of Computational Chemistry.

In brief, during my Ph.D. at Ecole Polytechnique, I have conducted basic research focused on the understanding of ion micro-hydration (ion solvation, ion-water interaction, water organization around ions, structures, dynamics, IR spectra, coordination numbers of micro-hydrated ions etc.) of various hydrated ions including both cations (Zn2+, Na+, K+, La3+, Ca2+) and anions (SO42-, Cl-) and small bio-molecules. Where, Ion micro-hydration has been modeled by a combination of classical molecular dynamics associated to the AMOEBA polarizable force field and Quantum Chemistry calculations (DFT, Ab initio). The title of my thesis is titled “Modelling the structure and IR spectra of micro-hydrated ions”. Thus, my Ph.D. work was involved both the MM and the QM methods.

The Research techniques, I used, include electronic structure calculation from various quantum mechanical calculations, molecular dynamics simulation along with polarizable force field in gas-phase and condensed phase, force field parameterization of bio-molecules, force field development, calculation of IR spectra from molecular dynamics simulation etc. I believe my professional training in quantum chemistry, molecular mechanics and technical skills will help me to carry out research in near future.

In my M.Sc. I have worked on Design, synthesis and binding properties of hydroxymethyl-phenyl ester analogues to the C1b subdomains of PKCδ (Novel Protein Kinase C).
