In the course of 13 years work experience in research and diagnostics, I've really developed a fascination with assay development. My deep knowledge in (medical) microbiology and molecular biology helped a lot. So I tailored functional assays for genotyping and high-throughput cell based screening platforms. Later I planned and designed mutation assays for cancer screening for use in diagnostic. Literature research, data mining, meticulous record keeping and methodical writing are fundamental for this kind of work.
