I'm Christopher Lee McElroy. I spent most of my life in Texas where I went to high-school, undergraduate, and graduate school. My life as a scientist started when I was conducting research at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. I worked in a stroke lab, but my project involved evaluating the presence of certain proteins at different stages of neurogenesis of the SGZ and SVZ. I had a second project where I used a technique called Clarity to research the differences in the vasculature of the cerebellum of old and young mice.

My career as a Research Assistant mainly involved Parkinson's disease research. The main project was the mitigation of a familial form of PD through exercise. I wrote several protocols for behavioral assays like the exercise regimen and novel object recognition. That study's publication is still being prepared as well as a proteomic review paper of the proteomics related to PD.

I decided to take some time off from lab work and try freelance scientific writing early in 2020. I have written abstracts and blogs for ICON. I have reviewed and edited several theses from international students. Recently, I have been writing web content for Boster Biological's antibody promotions, which included SEO.

I have the innate ability to turn complex technical manuscripts into easier to digest and understand articles and blogs for the general public. I do also have technical writing skills and can write on an array of different scientific topics.
