Profile Summary

I'm a researcher and evaluator with over 8 years of experience conducting research in developmental psychology, having recently received my Ph.D. in child psychology. In my current role at Michigan State University Extension, I collaborate with 4-H and early childhood staff to collect data on statewide programming efforts to demonstrate their impact on children and families. Having a strong base of content knowledge in child development, as well as the research skills required to conduct evaluations, puts me in a unique position to work to improve these types of programs. I also have a good deal of experience teaching undergraduate courses, which has allowed me to develop the ability to flexibly alternate between communicating with my academic colleagues and communicating with my students at a level they can understand. I've found that this is an invaluable skill to have when working within both the academic and non-academic realms. My colleagues know me as someone they can count on to be knowledgeable, caring, organized, and detail-oriented. I enjoy helping others, and I'm proud that I'm often the first person others come to with a question or for advice on how to deal with a problem. Helping other people is something that comes naturally to me, and I look forward to putting my skills to work to help others more broadly.
