Profile Summary

I am a practical yet innovative ICT business analyst and information management consultant. I successfully developed and apply a holistic business analysis approach that result in speedier development of supporting ICT platforms, resolution of conflict between ICT practitioners and business clients, less re-work, and maximum user acceptance with minimal change management efforts.I effectively apply it to analyze and improve ICT/business processes and systems; gather user-centric business requirements and, in the process, identify and resolve conflicting views between ICT developers and business end-users. I effectively: - deconstruct large amounts of data; - present and organize extensive amounts of information in a clear and concise manner; - communicate complex ideas effectively in a range of formats to diverse audiences; and - empower decision makers by means of interpreted data, data visualization and informative info graphics; I also: - make a positive difference as an influential and practical academic researcher, university lecturer, ICT business analyst and ICT management expert; - do, as well as guide, practical academic and industry research, and community engagement projects; - teach purposeful analysis for, and design of, ICT artifacts; and - improve the school's ICT curriculum and align it with industry best practices. My research focus areas include practical business requirements analysis for purposeful artifact design; innovative information management; socio-economic effects of ICT; optimized business and management information systems; action, interpretive and design science research; and alignment of IT/IS/CS curricula with industry. I publish in scholarly journals and present research at various local and international academic conferences. Before joining the academia, I was employed in industry where I gained vast experience in ICT business analysis, IT/IS service management and enablement, IT/business alignment, optimization of IT project/portfolio management and governance, as well as improvement of decision support enablement in a capital project environment. I still provide independent ICT analysis and consulting services to industry.
