Profile Summary

I'm a behavioral economist by training and profession. I started my PhD at the University of Miami where I focused largely on behavioral economics and environmental policy. I have since completed my Masters Degree portion of my degree and am working at The Common Cents Lab at Duke University as a reseracher. My research focuses on financial decision making. I design and test solutions to increase the financial well being of low to middle income Americans using behavioral economics. Much of my research is applied, though some is still theoretical. I conduct most of my research by partnering with Fintech companies (Earnup, Payable, DoubleNet Pay, CreditKarma ,etc) to both improve their products and help their users save money. I specialize in researcher that investigates what motivates people to over pay on debt, save for the long term, and how to motivate people to opt in to products that will improve their long term financial well-being.
