Profile Summary

Physician–Scientist and Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncologist with more than 20 years of academic and clinical research experience in gastric cancer surgery, clinical trials, and surgical outcomes research. I have served as Principal Investigator for multiple ICH-GCP–compliant clinical trials, including phase I–II gastric cancer studies registered on ClinicalTrials.gov, and have extensive experience designing and conducting prospective clinical research in high-volume tertiary academic centers. My research focuses on gastric cancer treatment strategies, perioperative outcomes, complication modeling, and translational clinical research integrating clinical, imaging, and biomarker datasets. I have led investigator-initiated trials and multidisciplinary collaborations aimed at improving surgical outcomes and optimizing perioperative management in gastrointestinal malignancies. My work has resulted in more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in international journals including Nature Communications and eClinicalMedicine.  I also have experience mentoring graduate trainees and collaborating with international research teams in Asia and globally. My expertise includes clinical trial design, protocol development, statistical interpretation of clinical data, and preparation of manuscripts for submission to international peer-reviewed journals.
