Profile Summary

I am a Molecular Biologist with a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology from Rutgers University. The bulk of my research experience is in yeast genetics, mitochondrial biology and fungal toxicology. Primarily focused on studying the effects of trichothecenes, a class of mycotoxins, in the cell but specifically the mitochondria. Most of the work were carried out using basic molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, PCR and microscopy. Results from these studies were published and presented in several peer-reviewed journals (eg. PNAS) and conferences. I am also an award winning speaker with a passion for teaching.
