I hold a PhD in Environmental Science from UC Berkeley, specializing in molecular ecology and evolutionary biology with advanced expertise in bioinformatics and data analytics. As a postdoctoral research at the California Academy of Sciences, I pioneered novel Nanopore sequencing protocols for DNA from museum specimens, enabling cost-effective high-throughput analysis of degraded samples. I possess extensive technical skills in: Data Analytics: Python, R, Bash, and machine learning for complex genomic datasets and synthesis with other data sources, including environmental data DNA Sequencing: End-to-end classic/NGS/third-gen workflow design (Sanger, Illumina, Nanopore) Technical Solutions: Custom pipeline development for large-scale biodiversity data and complex disconnected data sources Scientific Writing: 11 papers, 6 peer-reviewed first-authorships, $1M+ secured grants (NSF, Fulbright, state funding) My cross-disciplinary approach combines rigorous research design with actionable data insights, delivering: Reproducible analyses for conservation genomics and other complex data Competitive funding proposals and technical manuscripts with high success rates Optimized pipelines for sample preparation, sequencing, bioinformatic processing and statistical analyses In addition, I have taught four courses and mentored over 30 students across age ranges.
