I am a postdoctoral researcher with 9 years of research experience in botany, evolution, ecology, plant biochemistry, population and quantitative genetics, and bioinformatics. For my dissertation, I investigated the role of the plant flavonoid pathway in local adaptation to elevation. I characterized flavonoid pigments (anthocyanins and flavones) in the leaves, calyces, and petals across a wide geographic range of Bladder Campion populations, measured leaf and floral chemistry and herbivory along elevational gradients and compared these phenotypes to gene flow, performed a reciprocal transplant between high and low elevation genotypes, and measured flavonoid pathway gene expression using an RNAseq approach.
