Profile Summary

I am an MSc Bioinformatics student at Pondicherry University (CGPA: 8.30) specialising in cancer genomics, transcriptomics, and computational biology. My core expertise lies in end-to-end RNA-seq analysis, survival modelling, pathway enrichment, and machine learning applied to biological data, with hands-on proficiency in Python, R, and Linux-based NGS workflows. Featured project — StemQuant My primary research project is StemQuant, a pan-cancer web application I designed and built from scratch for tumor stemness quantification and clinical outcome prediction. Using TCGA transcriptomic data across GBM, LGG, and LIHC cancer types, I built a complete RNA-seq pipeline (FastQC, HISAT2/STAR, DESeq2/edgeR), performed Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression survival analysis, conducted GO/KEGG pathway enrichment using clusterProfiler, and developed a pan-cancer ML prediction model using scikit-learn. The application is deployed as an interactive Streamlit web app with login, dashboard, prediction, and history modules. Stemness scores were validated against ESC signatures from the GEO database. (github.com/AmruthaKantheti/StemQuant) Additional research experience I have analysed diagnostic RT-PCR data for COVID-19 detection using statistical methods, and presented research on probiotic microorganisms and their therapeutic roles at a university seminar. I also completed a hybrid internship in medical coding at Orion Solutions, gaining practical experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS systems and medical billing workflows. Technical skills I work fluently in Python, R, Perl, SQL, Java, and C++. My bioinformatics toolkit includes DESeq2, edgeR, clusterProfiler, TCGAbiolinks, BLAST, UCSC Genome Browser, STRING, and the TCGA and GEO databases. For structural bioinformatics I use PyMOL, AutoDock4, GROMACS, and Modeller. I am comfortable building and deploying data-driven web applications using Streamlit and SQLite. Education M.Sc.
