Profile Summary

I am a PhD-trained epidemiologist with over 10 years of experience in public health research, applied epidemiology, and academic instruction. I currently work as an Epidemiologist with the Middlesex-London Health Unit in Ontario, where I lead surveillance, data analysis, and knowledge translation initiatives across multiple public health priority areas including infectious disease outbreaks, maternal and child health, substance use, chronic disease prevention, and the social determinants of health. My work includes infectious disease surveillance and outbreak management (e.g., COVID-19, measles, legionella), epidemiological analysis, and the development of dynamic public health dashboards using Power BI to support decision-making for health systems and leadership. In addition to my public health practice, I serve as an Adjunct Professor at Western University within the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, where I teach and support graduate training in epidemiology, biostatistics, program evaluation, and systematic reviews within the Master of Public Health (MPH) program. I have supervised graduate students, supported capstone research projects, and lectured on epidemiology and public health practice. I also serve as an Associate Editor for the journal European Addiction Research, where I manage the peer-review process, evaluate methodological rigor, and contribute to maintaining high standards in scientific publishing. My previous roles include Research Manager and Epidemiologist with the Thunderbird Partnership Foundation, where I led national research initiatives focused on substance use and mental wellness among First Nations communities across Canada. I have extensive experience supporting research projects from conception to dissemination, including study design, survey development, data management, statistical analysis, systematic reviews, and knowledge translation. I also develop interactive data visualizations and dashboards using Power BI to translate complex data into actionable insights. My research and consulting interests include public health surveillance, substance use and mental health, infectious disease epidemiology, maternal and child health, health systems research, and community-based public health evaluation.
