Profile Summary

I am an interdisciplinary PhD student working between Kings College Centre for Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine, and UCL Centre for Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine. I am developing an in vitro model of musculoskeletal functionality, using stem cell derived muscle cells and micro-cell culture devices. which has potential applications in disease modelling and bio-actuated robotics. I have a 1st class Bachelors and Masters degree in Medical Engineering from the University of Leeds, and have previously worked on a range of research projects including mechanical characterisation of bone, mechanical loading patterns in the arthritic hip and computational modelling of the hip during regular gait cycles. Having previously worked at The Royal Institution, I am passionate about science communication and outreach activities, and making science accessible to all. My skills include CAD modelling, science writing and editing, medical communications, language editing, proof reading, critical analysis. I am keen to work with a wide range of collaborators including academics, industry professionals, biotechs, marketing/comms/sales professionals and individuals.
