Profile Summary

Since the beginning of my PhD work (more than 10 years ago at Stanford University, USA), I have been actively involved in research at the forefront of Biophysics. I have worked on single-molecule biophysics experiments to study ion channels and enzymes, and more recently, on combining biophysical approaches with next-generation sequencing to study yeast genomics. Prior to my graduate studies, I have been trained in Physics. Therefore, my research experience in molecular biology, combined with the analytical training in Physics and the consequent ability to crunch numbers, makes me uniquely suited to tackling interdisciplinary problems.
