I am a PhD scientist in integrative and molecular physiology with research expertise in protein aggregation, proteostasis, and mitochondrial quality control. My work has been funded by an NIH F32 fellowship, and I have industry experience at Amgen along with experience as a venture capital analyst in the life sciences. I write and edit across the scientific and medical communication spectrum. This includes manuscript preparation and editing for peer-reviewed journals, grant and fellowship applications, clinical documentation, and medical communications such as slide decks, white papers, and investor-facing materials. Across my research career I have authored/co-authored 16 peer-reviewed publications. I know what reviewers and editors look for and how to get a manuscript through to acceptance. My VC shows that I can translate dense science into clear narratives for non-specialist audiences, including investors and commercial teams, without losing technical accuracy. My therapeutic focus areas are neuroscience, rare disease, and protein biology, though my training covers cell and molecular biology broadly. I work quickly, handle technical complexity directly, and deliver clean drafts that need minimal revision. I hold a PhD in Molecular and Integrative Physiology from the University of Kansas Medical Center, followed by five years of postdoctoral research at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research.
