Profile Summary

I am a Chemist & Data Scientist with a PhD from Tsinghua University and currently a postdoc at Radboud University in the Netherlands. Ongoing Research: Data Driven Peptide Discovery I am currently developing a closed loop platform for the autonomous discovery of functional peptides. The system integrates automated solid phase peptide synthesis, high throughput characterization including assembly behavior, surface activity, and catalysis, and machine learning models that iteratively guide experimental design through active learning. This approach enables efficient navigation of vast chemical space without relying on rational design principles, accelerating the discovery of amphiphilic peptides with tailored self assembly and catalytic properties. PhD Research: Radical Click Clip Chemistry During my PhD at Tsinghua University under the supervision of Professor Xi Zhang, I developed a radical mediated click clip reaction sequence between phenothiazines and amines. This system enables quantitative, reversible bond formation within minutes under mild conditions. I applied this chemistry to two key areas: first, the synthesis of depolymerizable macromolecules for dynamic biomaterials, and second, the reversible modification of amino sugars, enabling precise control over biomacromolecule conjugation and release. This work was published in Science in 2024 and demonstrates my ability to translate fundamental chemistry into applications relevant to biomaterials and chemical biology. Technical Skills My skills span data science and automation, including active learning workflows, laboratory automation, computational chemistry such as DFT and molecular dynamics, and protein modeling with AlphaFold. In synthetic and materials chemistry, I have expertise in organic synthesis, supramolecular chemistry, peptide synthesis using both automated and manual methods, and reaction mechanism elucidation with techniques including EPR and laser flash photolysis.
