A Data Scientist and Biologist with a Master’s in Biology having worked on over 20 scientific projects, two of which were published in nationally recognized scientific journals on the study of decision making in fish and impulsive decision making in pigeons under the influence of opiates. Each project involved gathering and analyzing data, and presenting at the local, regional, and national stage. My scientific experience spans from laboratory research and testing to education and programming. I recently completed an intensive Data Science certificate where I gained skills in Python, SQL, data analysis, data visualization, hypothesis testing, and machine learning and applied this knowledge to two capstone projects related to monthly rainfall predictions for NC for the next 50 years and rankings of the healthiest city in the US. There is a story to be told in every data set and I believe it is my mission to bring that story to light by asking intriguing questions that skillfully bring out this story.
