My research interest is the observation, description, and analysis of processes and organizations with the objective of understanding how and why they operate the way they do. My work involves research and analysis that leads to recommendations on improvement. I have a PhD in Communication Studies and a Master of Applied Communication degrees. My dissertation research project was a qualitative study of a public engagement process to develop a park master plan. I conducted a research project testing quantitative scales to measure decision-making satisfaction in neighborhood organizations. I have worked in research projects on aging in community and altruism. I have 33 years of experience in Federal Government contracting which involved researching, interpreting, and applying government laws, regulations, and policies in a compliant and productive manner.
