Profile Summary

Main focus of my previous work was to investigate molecular mechanisms of lung diseases on a signaling level. For this I have applied transcriptomic analyses, histology as well as flow cytometry. By using protein-protein or gene network analyses as well as other bioinformatic approaches, I investigated the Transforming Growth Factor Beta pathway in lung cancer as well as remodelling-associated lung diseases such as Idiopathic Fibrosis and COPD. My current work is based on previous results and I was awarded a fellowship of the DFG to study now TGFB pathway activation of distinct immune cell populations in human lung cancer by applying multi-spectral Imaging, multiplexed Immunohistochemistry as well as state of the art image analysis.
