Profile Summary

I hold a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry (small molecule metallo-biomimetics and coordination chemistry) with 1 year of teaching experience in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Chemistry and 4 years of postdoctoral research experience (protein biochemistry, molecular biology and drug discovery). I am a highly innovative, enthusiastic and detail-oriented scientist working at the interface of enzymology, spectroscopy, metalloprotein engineering, and small-molecule discovery to clarify enzymatic mechanisms and lay the groundwork for the development of drugs that can slow or reverse a disease. My core interests lie in successfully implementing diverse technologies from inorganic chemistry and chemical biology to study the interaction between metalloenzymes and small molecule activators/inhibitors to support the development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of unmet medical needs. My current research goals are as follows: (i) study and design of “druggable” metalloenzymes crucial to cardiovascular and infectious disease pathways, (ii) enzyme-based method development of gaseous (O2/NO) affinity measurements of specific gas-utilizing enzymes, finally leading to (iii) the development of therapeutic strategies by validation of small molecules and biologics. To complement my research qualifications, I thrive to be a proficient mentor, science communicator and a part-time peer-reviewer for several international journals affiliated to American Chemical Society, Springer Nature Publishing House, and Science Direct. My passion in academic writing (manuscripts, grants, SOPs, etc.) and research consulting drives me to academic paltforms like Kolabtree to share my expertise in troubleshooting or conceptualizing a related scientific problem.
