I am a linguist researching South Asian languages, working on the Sylheti and Bengali phonetics and morphology.

Profile Summary

I am currently doing my independent postdoctoral research in the sociolinguistics of the South Asian languages in collaboration with the Dept. of Linguistics, Assam University Silchar, and The University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy. I am an expert in Sylheti and Bengali linguistics, especially the phonetics and morphology parts. I have experience in translation works, especially in English, Hindi, Bengali, and Sylheti languages. 
Education: I got my Ph.D. from the Dept. of Modern Philology, the University of Naples "Federico II". I got my Masters in Linguistics from the Dept. of Linguistics, Assam University Silchar, Silchar, India.  
Languages: I am proficient in English, Bengali, Hindi, and Urdu. I am average in Assamese and learning to excel in it. I also can speak and understand Italian (moderate level), and other Indian languages like Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, and more.
Computer skills: I know Python programming and am a user of the linguistic software Praat.

My research area is language contact and evolution.
