Profile Summary

I have almost 10 years of organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry experience from both academic and industrial research platforms, most recently my research work focused on the early phase drug discovery program. I have worked closely with various biology colleagues from different research backgrounds on experimental design to generate tools, leads for many therapeutic areas like immunosuppressants, anti-cancer, anti-TB, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and multiple sclerosis. I was trained as a natural product medicinal chemist then in the course of my postdoc I leaped into synthetic medicinal chemistry. I have extensive experience in medicinal chemistry particularly around designing projects against specific biological target, establishing highly cost-effective, safe, green and robust synthetic routes, lead identification by rational design, and analog based approaches. I am proficient in all aspects of early drug discovery including combinatorial library generation, SAR establishment, bioisosterism, Lipinski's rule, Beyond the Rule of 5 and PKPD optimization. In depth practical knowledge of solution and solid phase peptide synthesis, protecting group free organic synthesis, organometallics (Grignard, Barbier, Suzuki, Oxidative Heck, Buchwald-Hartwig, C-H activation etc.), enzymatic reactions, fluorine chemistry, click chemistry, radical cyclization, domino reactions, multi component reactions. Proficient to provide state-of-the-art approaches to Natural Products (medicinal plants) and Synthetic Medicinal Chemistry projects.
