Profile Summary

I ended up being an interdisciplinary research scientist and I am enjoying every bit of it. The passion for penning down my research schemes and ardent enthusiastic about writing my scientific manuscripts sometimes compels me to even wake up in the middle of the night for which my father sometimes sarcastically compares me to the renowned scientist, Otto Loewi, who performed the famous experiment, which led to the discovery of the fact that transmission of information in our brains is chemical. My academic journey started with enrolling myself for electrical engineering course. At the very beginning of my course my aim was to finish engineering study and join a simple ‘9 to 5’ job. But thereafter things changed. As I was moving step by step towards my engineering graduation I got fascinated by applications of electrical and electronics engineering in medical science, therefore, I eventually pursued Masters in Micro and Nano systems, which has innumerable applications in medical science starting from diagnosis, analysis, treatment and so on. Hence, my previous research projects were mainly on medical applications. One of my previous research project was on designing of thermal actuators for large force and small deflection to move carbon nanotubes, which are utilized as drug delivery and biosensing platforms for treatment of various diseases. Another notable research project was on determining relative permittivity of different materials at different frequency ranges, which play a vital role in imaging and treatment. My deep inclination towards application of electronics and electrical engineering in the medical science has driven me to one of the most interesting and complicated field of study, brain science. At present, I can portray myself as a research scientist making an endeavor to analyze the neural mechanisms underlying memory and learning particularly in presence of the chemicals i.e., neurotransmitters which help in transferring signals in the brain. My doctoral study focuses on understanding how cognitive activities, which deals with all mental abilities i.e., learning, memory etc. are controlled by neural circuits in the brain particularly in presence of amine neurotransmitters. I cherish generating new ideas and thereby devising feasible and relevant solutions to the problems. My specialties include mathematical, computational, kinetic and neuronal modelling. My expertise includes designing innovative approaches and techniques to understand the chemicals in the brain responsible for transferring information, the complex drug delivery mechanisms in the brain by implementing simple concepts. I am also open to learn new skills and innovative research tools. My superiors would describe me as an active individual accomplished with the 4Ps i.e., patience, punctuality, perseverance, and perfection. Currently, I am looking for some opportunities that will allow me to explore and stimulate technologies to ensure an optimal mental health as well as better future with respect to some highly prevalent mental disorders.
