Profile Summary

I am a bioarchaeologist; my recent research has involved looking at variation in rates of human skeletal aging and sexual dimorphism, and the issues around estimating age-at-death of skeletons, particularly of the oldest individuals. Other research interests include paleodemography, paleopathology, the interrelationships of health, disease and socioeconomic status. I am also interested in research on aging; I have worked for local government in the UK and am interested in exploring how anthropology might add a unique perspective to aging research, particularly as affects policy. My work experience also includes over 15 years of experience in editing and proofreading of materials including academic papers, theses, consumer websites, psychometric tests, and professional articles.
