Profile Summary

Himadri Banerji graduated from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and did my Masters in Business Management specializing in Systems with Computer Applications in Business from XLRI.
In my professional career in Oil and Gas, Power, and Steel spanning over 40 years have worked in various corporate groups in India and abroad like Tata, Reliance Industries, Reliance Energy, Rolls Royce Power, GIPCL, Torrent Power etc. in different capacities including as CEO and Director. From 2014-2018 have been an International Consultant with Ernst and Young involved in building capabilities amongst managers in Bangladesh.
From 2009 am also heading my own boutique management consultancy firm. As a management consulting firm, we tend to lead with business issues first. Clients tend to come to us because they have a specific problem they’re trying to solve or a specific corporate goal they’re trying to achieve. I have been training and mentoring executives in startups in the Clean Energy , Implementation of Projects in RFID, IOT AI ML DL Data Analysis Space across the spectrum of industries.
I tend to specialize in strategically scoping all the AI linked digital transformation investments and linking them back to the visions and goals of the organizations in achieving set objectives, the resources available in the company and the country and what can be called upon from global companies.
My Digital journey initially started from the day I joined a career in Energy and Process Industry where online data measurement is used extensively for operations maintenance and construction. However, it is in 1984 when I really came across the science of System Dynamics in my PhD studies at IIT Kharagpur. Had my first brush with digital simulation models using computers and programs for using data analysis generating insights linking social problems with policy predicting behavior of societal and business systems. That was AI in its infancy.
I was involved as a senior management professional for the first time in Digital transformation in the Energy Industries from 2000 onwards as we at Torrent Power were looking a performance improvements cost reduction etc. My first digital transformation project was in retrofitting Digital Control Systems, SCADA, Online Process Optimization using Sensor Accuracy Estimation using Statistical Methods, Online Performance Management Systems, Automatic Meter Reading and Theft Analysis in Energy Marketing and Distribution Systems using Pattern Recognition Techniques, 
From 2003 onwards also became more involved in Enterprise wise Digital Transformation Initiatives like SAP/ERP/CIS/DMS etc. My first experience in Neural Networks & Training, the associated Math came by while developing Neural Models for Demand Forecasting for a Distribution Company in 2008.
With E&Y 2014 onwards became more involved in Robotic Process Automation, Virtual Commissioning, Integration of IOT with Edge Computing into Main Data Base of Distributed Control Systems while working with state-of-the-art Power Advanced Class Technologies in Generation Facilities in Bangladesh.
I was recently in October 2020, invited by PowerGen Conferences & Clarion Energy as a panelist and speaker for an International Webinar on Digital Transformation in Energy Industry Organized in conjunction with Ernst and Young where I spoke on the “Intersection of Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence.”
