Profile Summary

Welcome to my profile. I am a freelance consultant in computational physics and computational material science applications. I pursued my schooling in Brussels, Belgium and then moved to the UK for my University studies (first Cambridge for my undergraduate degree and then Oxford for my Ph.D). My field of specialisation is the physics of laser-induced shock-compression of crystalline solids and the modeling of the mechanical response properties of such solids under extreme pressure and temperature conditions with ab-initio atomistic computational techniques such as classical Molecular Dynamics and Density Functional Theory. I know how to use some of the most important ab-initio computational material science codes such as LAMMPS, VASP, ABINIT and Quantum Espresso, as well as to write data analysis scripts in Python together with its associated libraries NumPy, SciPy and Matplotlib. I have also written computational physics codes in Fortran in the past, and I'm now in the process of learning how to program in C. Finally I am also familiar with the PHON code for calculating phonon dispersion curves in crystals and related thermodynamical properties.
