ZM have soared over 85% in 2020.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/zoom-ceo-coronavirus-outbreak-change-140039425.html\">Yahoo reports<\/a> that in China, Microsoft has seen a 500 percent increase in Microsoft Teams meetings, calling, and conferencing, as well as a 200 percent increase in Teams usages on mobile devices. <strong>In the first week of March, four of the world&#8217;s biggest companies &#8211; Amazon, Google, Facebook and Microsoft &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2020\/03\/05\/812173963\/coronavirus-amazon-facebook-google-microsoft-urge-seattle-workers-to-stay-home\">asked its Seattle workers to remain home<\/a> till the end of the month.<\/strong> Twitter announced that it was <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.twitter.com\/en_us\/topics\/company\/2020\/keeping-our-employees-and-partners-safe-during-coronavirus.html\">optimizing all its internal meetings<\/a> for remote participation. As companies big and small start to implement remote working setups both internally and with their external partners, they are starting to realize the benefit of collaborative tools like Slack and Google Docs. Some scheduled conferences like <a href=\"https:\/\/theblog.adobe.com\/adobe-summit\/?scid=277a775d-f171-4f80-99a3-6e8bea103e56&amp;mv=social&amp;mv2=owned_social\">Adobe Summit<\/a>, are now offering an &#8220;online-only&#8221; format.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Shift_in_Thinking\"><\/span>A Shift in Thinking<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This is not the first time a specific event is prompting companies to consider the benefits of remote working. In early 2018, there was a swell of icy weather sweeping the entire planet \u2014 from the massive January cyclone in the <span class=\"il\">eastern<\/span> United States to the \u201c<span class=\"il\">Beast<\/span> from the <span class=\"il\">East<\/span>\u201d in Europe, which claimed dozens of lives.
