{"id":2128,"date":"2017-05-03T15:38:17","date_gmt":"2017-05-03T15:38:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kolabtree.com\/blog\/?p=2128"},"modified":"2017-10-10T10:20:57","modified_gmt":"2017-10-10T10:20:57","slug":"collaborate-computational-physics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kolabtree.com\/blog\/collaborate-computational-physics\/","title":{"rendered":"#ResearchWithoutBorders: Collaborate on a computational physics project with Dr. Lester Ingber"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kolabtree.com\/blog\/researchwithoutborders\/\">#ResearchWithoutBorders<\/a> initiative aims to document and showcase\u00a0cross-border collaborations in science, tech, engineering and medicine. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ingber.com\/lir_computational_physics_group.html\">Dr. Lester Ingber<\/a>, an Oregon-based acclaimed physicist with over 100 publications to his credit, tells us about his platform, which facilitates collaboration with other researchers online.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ingber is the Principal Investigator of a National Science Foundation (NSF.gov) \u00a0Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) supercomputer-resource grant. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xsede.org\">XSEDE<\/a> is a &#8220;single virtual system that scientists can use to interactively share computing resources, data and expertise&#8221;. Collaboration is voluntary, and Dr. Ingber is currently working with two volunteers \u2013\u00a0one from the USA and one from Italy.
