The free movement of scientists within the EU has so far allowed Britain to access and bring home some of the best talent across EU&#8217;s member countries. There has been much debate revolving around the referendum results about the future of research and innovation in the UK post-Brexit. While Theresa May has\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.royalsociety.org\/in-verba\/2017\/01\/19\/theresa-may-makes-science-a-brexit-priority\/\">tentou oferecer alguma seguran\u00e7a<\/a>\u00a0e o\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/science\/2016\/nov\/21\/theresa-may-to-promise-2bn-a-year-for-scientific-research\">o or\u00e7amento para ci\u00eancia e inova\u00e7\u00e3o foi aumentado<\/a>\u00a0em \u00a32 bilh\u00f5es por ano, as universidades e o meio acad\u00eamico ainda est\u00e3o c\u00e9ticos sobre como os efeitos do Brexit se produzir\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>Com o artigo 50 sendo acionado em 29 de mar\u00e7o de 2017, Brexit est\u00e1 rapidamente se tornando uma realidade imediata, e os cientistas pr\u00f3-UE est\u00e3o ainda mais preocupados com o que isso significar\u00e1 para a ci\u00eancia.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nRea\u00e7\u00f5es \u00e0 Brexit\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A comunidade cient\u00edfica n\u00e3o tinha feito segredo de sua posi\u00e7\u00e3o em Brexit no ano passado. Sob este esquema, o Reino Unido\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/royalsociety.org\/topics-policy\/projects\/uk-research-and-european-union\/role-of-EU-in-funding-UK-research\/how-much-funding-does-uk-get-in-comparison-with-other-countries\/\">recebido<\/a>\u00a06,9 bilh\u00f5es de euros, de um total de 55,4 bilh\u00f5es de euros. Ele promete mais avan\u00e7os, descobertas e avan\u00e7os mundiais ao levar grandes id\u00e9ias do laborat\u00f3rio para o mercado\". \"O programa Horizonte 2020, no entanto, necessita que seu\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-39196315\">pa\u00edses membros contribuem para isso<\/a>que atualmente \u00e9 incerta no caso do Reino Unido. Embora\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fiercebiotech.com\/biotech\/brexit-why-u-k-life-science-optimistic-face-threats-to-r-d-funding\">este artigo<\/a>\u00a0afirma que Brexit ainda pode ser positivo para o setor de ci\u00eancias da vida, deixa o leitor se perguntando sobre os \"efeitos potencialmente prejudiciais de Brexit no financiamento de VC, colabora\u00e7\u00f5es de pesquisa, contrata\u00e7\u00f5es e regulamentos\", o que \u00e9 um n\u00famero consider\u00e1vel de coisas com as quais se preocupar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outro lado da hist\u00f3ria\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Os cientistas da Gr\u00e3-Bretanha, uma comunidade de cientistas que acreditam que o Reino Unido est\u00e1 melhor sem a UE, tamb\u00e9m tem algo a dizer. Em um\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sciencebritain?lang=en\">carta aberta \u00e0 comunidade cient\u00edfica<\/a>\u00a0datado de 11 de junho de 2016, Howard Morris do Imperial College London argumenta que agora haver\u00e1 financiamento suficiente dentro do Reino Unido para aumentar seu or\u00e7amento cient\u00edfico.
