Hoje a hist\u00f3ria do Oceano \u00cdndico ganhou um interesse renovado, pois nos lembra a maior mobilidade e travessia com tal impacto que nos obriga a repensar como funcionam os processos de tais encontros e o que significam as \u00e1reas. Muitas hist\u00f3rias ainda permanecem incalcul\u00e1veis dentro desta arena inter-regional cosmopolita. A ocasi\u00e3o deste livro est\u00e1 aqui, portanto, para tentar reformular nosso entendimento da \u00c1frica e da \u00c1sia. Compreender os imp\u00e9rios terrestres e mar\u00edtimos no Oceano \u00cdndico sob diferentes perspectivas metodol\u00f3gicas e diferentes temas e culturas \u00e9 o principal motivo desta cole\u00e7\u00e3o de estudos. Os dois autores tentaram reler o papel da hist\u00f3ria do Oceano \u00cdndico possivelmente sem as cl\u00e1ssicas defini\u00e7\u00f5es perimetrais da pol\u00edtica tradicional e das rela\u00e7\u00f5es internacionais.<\/p>\n
