L'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie de <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">maladie \u00e0 coronavirus<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0(COVID-19) a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 l'origine \u00e0 Wuhan, en Chine, fin 2019 et s'est de plus en plus r\u00e9pandue en Europe et dans le monde entier en f\u00e9vrier de cette ann\u00e9e. Ce qui \u00e9tait plus surprenant, c'\u00e9tait le taux alarmant de contagion de cette infection virale et le nombre accru de porteurs asymptomatiques. Il \u00e9tait donc difficile pour le personnel de sant\u00e9 d'identifier les personnes positivement infect\u00e9es, mais aussi pour le gouvernement qui tentait d'endiguer ces chiffres en constante augmentation. Aujourd'hui, les syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 sont soumis \u00e0 une pression \u00e9norme, ce qui retarde les soins r\u00e9guliers pour les personnes atteintes de diff\u00e9rentes maladies telles que la tuberculose (TB), rendant la situation dans les maisons de retraite inqui\u00e9tante. Le monde entier s'est uni pour \u00e9laborer des strat\u00e9gies de lutte contre cette maladie et collabore au-del\u00e0 des fronti\u00e8res. Si nous parvenons \u00e0 mettre au point de nouveaux vaccins et m\u00e9dicaments contre le nouveau coronavirus et \u00e0 gagner cette guerre, il est important de se pencher sur les cons\u00e9quences de cette crise sur les syst\u00e8mes de soins de sant\u00e9 dans le monde post-pand\u00e9mique, en particulier dans les pays o\u00f9 la tuberculose est tr\u00e8s r\u00e9pandue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le virus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) ressemble beaucoup \u00e0 l'ancien coronavirus du SRAS. Il est donc imp\u00e9ratif d'examiner de plus pr\u00e8s les r\u00e9sultats de la pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente pand\u00e9mie de SRAS. Des \u00e9tudes men\u00e9es aupr\u00e8s de survivants du SRAS ont montr\u00e9 que la fibrose progressive des poumons \u00e9tait l'une des principales raisons du d\u00e9clin de leur qualit\u00e9 de vie. <\/span><b>Environ un tiers des patients atteints du SRAS pr\u00e9sentaient une alt\u00e9ration persistante de la fonction pulmonaire, un an apr\u00e8s leur gu\u00e9rison. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La fibrose pulmonaire est une affection pulmonaire durable qui laisse des cicatrices permanentes sur les tissus pulmonaires, r\u00e9duisant ainsi leur efficacit\u00e9. Des \u00e9tudes approfondies sur le SRAS-CoV-2 sugg\u00e8rent que la fibrose pulmonaire est l'une des principales complications de la maladie COVID-19. Bien qu'il n'y ait pas encore de consensus sur le m\u00e9canisme exact de la progression de la maladie COVID-19, les donn\u00e9es existantes indiquent la possibilit\u00e9 d'un dommage pulmonaire durable. Ainsi, <\/span><b>Les survivants du COVID-19 sont susceptibles de contracter diverses maladies infectieuses pulmonaires comme la tuberculose.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">une possibilit\u00e9 qui n'a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 mise en lumi\u00e8re jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Environ 10 millions de personnes dans le monde sont touch\u00e9es par la tuberculose et 1,5 million de d\u00e9c\u00e8s sont enregistr\u00e9s chaque ann\u00e9e. Selon l'OMS, pr\u00e8s de 90% de ces cas proviennent d'Inde, de Chine et d'autres pays d'Asie du Sud-Est et d'Afrique du Sud o\u00f9 la charge de la tuberculose est \u00e9lev\u00e9e. De r\u00e9centes \u00e9tudes de mod\u00e9lisation bas\u00e9es sur ces pays indiquent qu'un verrouillage de 3 mois induit par le COVID-19 et une p\u00e9riode de restauration prolong\u00e9e de 10 mois (temps de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration n\u00e9cessaire pour revenir \u00e0 la normale) pourraient potentiellement conduire \u00e0 <\/span><b>6,3 millions de cas suppl\u00e9mentaires de tuberculose entre 2020 et 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Une analyse d\u00e9taill\u00e9e montre \u00e9galement qu'il y aurait <\/span><b>1,4 million de d\u00e9c\u00e8s suppl\u00e9mentaires dus \u00e0 la tuberculose <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pendant cette p\u00e9riode, ce qui implique un recul de 5 ans dans le programme de la strat\u00e9gie de fin de tuberculose.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pour \u00e9liminer efficacement l'augmentation possible des cas de tuberculose, il serait donc crucial que ces pays soient conscients de la menace \u00e0 venir et soient bien pr\u00e9par\u00e9s au diagnostic pr\u00e9coce, au traitement et \u00e0 la pr\u00e9vention des d\u00e9c\u00e8s dus \u00e0 la tuberculose. Les gouvernements, les citoyens et les communaut\u00e9s des m\u00e9dias sociaux devraient jouer un r\u00f4le important dans l'\u00e9limination de la stigmatisation associ\u00e9e \u00e0 la tuberculose. La mise en place de syst\u00e8mes de surveillance et de suivi de la tuberculose, la disponibilit\u00e9 d'un personnel sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans la tuberculose et la priorisation du traitement des patients tuberculeux sont des mesures indispensables. <\/span><b>Un diagnostic pr\u00e9coce jouerait un r\u00f4le essentiel pour \u00e9viter l'effondrement des syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 et les d\u00e9c\u00e8s massifs dus \u00e0 la tuberculose.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
