Este proceso est\u00e1 guiado por ARNs de interferencia corta de 24 nt (siRNAs) cuyos precursores de doble cadena son sintetizados por la ARN POLIMERAZA NUCLEAR dependiente del ADN IV (Pol IV) y la ARN POLIMERAZA 2 (RDR2). La Pol IV y la RDR2 coinmunoprecipitan, y sus actividades est\u00e1n estrechamente acopladas, pero se desconoce la base de su asociaci\u00f3n.
