Las c\u00e9lulas madre mesenquimales o el uso de MSCs forman una de esas estrategias de tratamiento contra el COVID-19. La prote\u00edna S del virus identifica el receptor de la enzima convertidora de angiotensina-I (ACE2) y entra en la c\u00e9lula de su hu\u00e9sped.  Una vez dentro de la c\u00e9lula, el sistema inmunitario del organismo produce un gran n\u00famero de citoquinas (IL-2, IL-6, IL-7, GSCF, IP10, MCP1, MIP1A y TNF\u03b1) en un intento de eliminar el virus. La liberaci\u00f3n de estos factores inflamatorios da lugar a una grave <\/span><b>tormenta de citoquinas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">un fen\u00f3meno que provoca edema, s\u00edndromes de disfunci\u00f3n de m\u00faltiples \u00f3rganos <\/span><b>(MODS)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, s\u00edndrome de dificultad respiratoria aguda <\/span><b>(ARDS)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>agotamiento de las c\u00e9lulas inmunitarias<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y la muerte. (1-3)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hasta ahora, no hay consenso entre las autoridades sanitarias sobre la clasificaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica de la COVID-19, sin embargo, la mayor\u00eda est\u00e1 de acuerdo en que la enfermedad oscila entre sus formas leves y graves o cr\u00edticamente graves. (4,5)<\/p>\n<p><b>Nota:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Los receptores de la ECA-2 est\u00e1n presentes en el coraz\u00f3n, el h\u00edgado, la AT2 de los pulmones, el \u00f3rgano digestivo, el ri\u00f1\u00f3n y en casi todas las c\u00e9lulas endoteliales y del m\u00fasculo liso. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>IL:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Interleucina;\u00a0 <\/span><b>GSCF:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Factor estimulante de colonias de granulocitos; <\/span><b>IP:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Prote\u00edna inducida; <\/span><b>MCP:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Prote\u00edna quimioatrayente de monocitos; <\/span><b>MIP:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Prote\u00ednas inflamatorias de los macr\u00f3fagos; <\/span><b>TNF:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Factor de Necrosis Tumoral<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Role_Of_Stem_Cells_In_Fight_Against_COVID-19\"><\/span><b>El papel de las c\u00e9lulas madre en la lucha contra el COVID-19<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>En la actualidad, el Remdesivir es el \u00fanico medicamento que ha obtenido una \"autorizaci\u00f3n de uso de emergencia\" de la USFDA. Sin embargo, la informaci\u00f3n sobre su seguridad y eficacia es limitada. (6) Por lo tanto, es necesario considerar alternativas al uso de Remdesivir. Adem\u00e1s, estos <\/span><b>estudios<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> son <\/span><b>limitado a los virus de la gripe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y tienen <\/span><b>produjo resultados contradictorios<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Por lo tanto, esta situaci\u00f3n exig\u00eda el uso de las MSC en sujetos humanos <\/span><b>(Cuadro 2)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> afectados por infecciones respiratorias por coronavirus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Tabla 2: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pruebas<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sobre el uso de las MSC para el tratamiento de la COVID-19. Sin embargo, hay que tener en cuenta los resultados de los ensayos actuales en curso para comprobar plenamente el hecho anterior.<\/p>\n<p>Presently there are around 20 clinical trials (n) that are in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kolabtree.com\/blog\/es\/ensuring-reproducibility-in-ai-driven-research-how-freelance-experts-can-help-in-biotech-and-healthcare\/\">investigaci\u00f3n<\/a> pipeline for furthering our knowledge on the role of MSC in COVID-19. (7) These trials can be categorized as those using:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MSC (n=8, con unos 396 participantes)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MSC-derivados (n=12; con unos 561 participantes)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adem\u00e1s, algunos de los <\/span>fuentes potenciales de MSCs<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> utilizados en estos ensayos incluyen, <\/span><b>UC-MSCs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>UCB-MSCs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>MSC de gelatina de la UC-Wharton<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>UC-MSCs-CM<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>AT-MSCs Exo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
