Lo m\u00e1s sorprendente fue la alarmante velocidad de contagio de esta infecci\u00f3n v\u00edrica y el aumento del n\u00famero de portadores asintom\u00e1ticos. Esto no s\u00f3lo dificult\u00f3 al personal sanitario la identificaci\u00f3n de las personas infectadas, sino tambi\u00e9n al gobierno que intentaba frenar estas cifras cada vez mayores. Hoy en d\u00eda, los sistemas sanitarios est\u00e1n sometidos a una enorme presi\u00f3n que retrasa la atenci\u00f3n sanitaria regular de las personas con diferentes enfermedades, como la tuberculosis (TB), lo que hace que la situaci\u00f3n en las residencias de ancianos sea preocupante. El mundo entero se ha unido para idear estrategias de lucha contra esta enfermedad y est\u00e1 colaborando m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las fronteras. Si bien es cierto que conseguiremos nuevas vacunas y medicamentos para el nuevo coronavirus y ganaremos esta guerra, es importante abordar las repercusiones de esta crisis en los sistemas de atenci\u00f3n sanitaria en el mundo pospand\u00e9mico, especialmente en los pa\u00edses con una elevada carga de tuberculosis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El virus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) se parece mucho al antiguo coronavirus del SARS, por lo que es imperativo analizar los resultados de la anterior pandemia de SARS. Los estudios de los supervivientes del SRAS demuestran que la fibrosis progresiva de los pulmones fue una de las principales razones del deterioro de su calidad de vida. <\/span><b>Alrededor de un tercio de los pacientes con SARS mostraron un deterioro persistente de la funci\u00f3n pulmonar, un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s de la recuperaci\u00f3n. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La fibrosis pulmonar es un trastorno pulmonar duradero que cicatriza permanentemente los tejidos pulmonares reduciendo su eficacia.
